The rear snug. The table is of a type used on ships. The grill in the centre covers a tray of water and was used as an ashtray.

This is a portrait of Dr Duncan in the pub of the same name. He was Liverpool's Medical Officer of Health, the first in the country.

The last pub we visited is in the old North Western Hotel building on Lime Street where we had a very good dinner.
The upper floors are now student accommodation while part of the ground floor is Wetherspoon's  'The North Western'.

This is the sign on the outside of the building.

The North Western's dining room is decorated with vintage posters.
