The Reverend Frank Oswald Brown Joined Marlborough as a teacher in the latter half of the 1950s and became headmaster in the early 1960s, although Mr Larter remained as 'principle'. Born 1911 in the East Riding of Yorkshire he attended Edinburgh University and the Yorkshire United Independent College which trained Congregational clergy. He was based in Poole Dorset between 1940 & 1955 then took over Hunter’s Lane Congregational Church in Wavertree Liverpool. One 'old boy' remembers the warm welcome given to him when he visited The Reverend and his family in their home on Menlove Avenue.

The Reverend Frank Oswald Brown died May 1986 in Liverpool aged 75.
